Garden District STR ban

A Garden District Association volunteer said the neighborhood never sought the change and asked the Commission to keep the ban on STRs and B&Bs that protects the National Historic Landmark district.

Representing the Garden District Association, she asked the Commission to ignore the staff recommendation and keep the STR ban, citing millions of annual visitors.

The Garden District Association president said her 400-450 member families oppose STRs and asked the Commission to keep the ban in the National Historic Landmark neighborhood.

Opposed removing the Garden District's prohibitions, saying transient lodging would diminish the National Landmark district's historic value.
