Hotel use standards

An architect and hotel developer argued hotels are already well-regulated by zoning and building code, opposed splitting hotels into categories, and asked the Commission to keep current hotel zoning and coordinate Council with Safety & Permits and the State Fire Marshal.

Representing the Greater New Orleans Hotel Lodging Association, she cited Louisiana Supreme Court jurisprudence on hotel ancillary uses and asked that the 'neighborhood hotel' category be struck in favor of a single hotel category.
