STRs in VCE-1

A Decatur Street building owner said rising insurance and taxes make STR licensing necessary to keep vacant upper floors viable, listing eleven buildings with empty upper floors on the 200-300 blocks of Decatur.

A VCE-1 property owner argued blanket STR rules unfairly lump professional developers with absentee owners, disputed density figures, and said the district needs an economic boost to fight blight.

A Decatur Street resident said 38 neighbors and business owners signed in support of STRs in VCE-1 and described the difficulty of living on the block — noise, dumpsters, and no parking.
